Log In

You have received a confirmation email. This email contains your username and password (also known as administrator credentials) which you can use to log in to the customer pages on Avaruus.net. Your username is in the form of an email address.

Customer Pages

You can log in to the customer pages by typing https://www.avaruus.net into the browser’s address bar and clicking “Log In” from the resulting page. Alternatively, you can go directly to https://oma.avaruus.net.

Forgot Administrator Credentials?

If you have forgotten your administrator credentials for the customer pages, you can reset them on the login page using the “Forgot Credentials?” function.

Website Displaying on the Internet

Space has been reserved on the server for your website. If you do not yet have a website created, the Installatron installer will help you install web applications (such as the WordPress blog platform). If you have your own website created, it will need to be transferred to the server before it appears on the Internet. Follow the following steps:

Connection to the Server

You have several options for transferring your pages to the server (upload):

SFTP connection (recommended)
FTP connection
FTP via web browser

FTP Programs and Connection Settings

Experienced users can also use a shell connection.

Where Do the Pages Appear?

On the customer pages, in the “Settings -> Pages” section, you can see all the addresses and directories to which content should be uploaded.
The default directory path is: ~/public/omaverkkotunnus.fi

Email

Space has been reserved on the server for email. Before your email starts working, you must complete the following steps:

Create an email address on the customer pages

Log in to the customer pages and click “Email” from the main menu. You can create two types of email addresses:

Email boxes
Email redirects or aliases

An email box (i.e., an email account) can collect incoming and outgoing emails. You can read the box using an email program on your computer or from Webmail. An email redirect is an email address to which sent emails are automatically routed to another email address (which can be an email box or an email redirect), for example: matti.meikalainen@omaverkkotunnus.fi → matti.meikalainen@gmail.com

When you create an email address, it will start working immediately.

Using the Email Address

Once the email address is created, you can start using it. (Note: In the case of an email redirect, the situation is simple: emails start being routed to the specified address.)

Activating the email box requires additional steps. First, you should decide how you want to read your email. Avaruus.net offers Webmail, which you can use flexibly from your computer or from a connection that is independent of your computer or Internet connection, for example, from your home computer, your workplace, or even from a hotel room while traveling. In addition to Webmail (or in conjunction with it), you can use an email program that you install on your computer and/or mobile device.
