Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) provides enhanced security for your user account by requiring an additional verification step upon login to the Oma Avaruus customer pages. This mitigates the risk of unauthorized access to your information, even if an attacker possesses your password. The following outlines the activation process.

Activating Two-Factor Authentication

To implement Two-Factor Authentication, you will need a mobile authentication application, such as Google Authenticator (download for Android or iPhone).

Log in to the Oma Avaruus customer pages.
Click the large profile button in the upper right corner and select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.
Select “Two-Factor Authentication” and click the “Enable 2FA” button.
Scan the QR code displayed on the screen using your chosen application. You can download Google Authenticator from Android or iPhone.
Once the application has added your user account, obtain the next six-digit one-time code from the application and enter it on the page to enable authentication each time you log in.
The “Settings” for Oma Avaruus will now display “Two-Factor Authentication: Enabled,” and Two-Factor Authentication is activated.

Two-Factor Authentication

Once you have enabled Two-Factor Authentication, login always requires your password plus a second verification. You confirm the authentication by providing the six-digit one-time code valid for 30 seconds from your chosen authentication application. This ensures that only you have access to your user account.

Store the backup codes in a secure location if you are unable to access your primary authentication device. This allows you to recover your account if necessary.

Deactivating Two-Factor Authentication

You can disable Two-Factor Authentication by clicking “Disable.” After doing so, you will no longer be prompted for Two-Factor Authentication when you log in the next time.
